Thanks to the great couples that joined us on our first ever Atchafalaya Amour sunset dinner cruises! After a windy and cold Friday which caused us to reschedule the Friday swamp tour, Saturday and Sunday’s weather proved to be almost perfect!
The couples arrived for their 5:30pm cruise and had their photos taken prior to boarding. Once on board, wine was served as the boat moved through the swamp to the dinner location. Though there were a few more clouds in the sky then we would have hoped for, the limited sunset was made up for with the setting. The boat parked within a dense cypress tree forest that was simply gorgeous and included 360 degrees views of the Atchafalaya Basin!
After sundown, a three course dinner was served on white linens and live music was provided by Michael Boudreaux (Saturday) and Emily Ortego (Sunday). Both performed great! More wine was served, and while guests enjoyed their company and meal, Captain John spoke about the Atchafalaya Basin and his LOVE for the area.
Once dinner was completed, the boat made its way through the darkness and back to McGee’s Swamp Tours. Upon return, guests were given a special keepsake of their night, a lovely framed photo that they had taken earlier!
